Valentine’s Day cards for Spanish class: FREE printable

In case the hearts, balloons, chocolates, and school dances haven’t been enough to remind you, it’s Valentine’s Day!  In other words, it’s Friendship Day!

No, really, in Venezuela, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, and the Dominican Republic, February 14th is Día del Amor y la Amistad – the day of love and friendship.  They have this “Galentine’s” thing (I just discovered this idea) built right into the name!

In the spirit of love and friendship, we wanted to offer you a printable Valentine’s card your young Spanish learners could use to share the love with all their amigos.  There’s a color version and a black-and-white version if your young Valentine’s Day celebrants want to make it their own art project.

One set shows Ofelia handing some caramelos to Raúl, and this set is designed for girls to print and give to friends for Valentine’s Day (it’s from an amiga – a female friend).  Another set shows Pepe giving the candy away and uses the word amigo; it’s for a boy to print and give away.

  • Click here for the black & white PDF for children to color on their own.

One more idea – in the blank space in the middle, children can write their name orChupa-chups attach a culturally authentic candy.  , anyone?

Wondering who Ofelia, Raúl, and their other amigos are?  These characters walk with your young Spanish learners on a journey to speaking real Spanish to real people.  They present authentic language through fun Video Stories and a ton of supportive activities in our innovative Stories program.  Want to learn more?  Check out our informative “Discover Stories” page and click the red button to sign up for a free trial; you’ll get access to 3 units per level for seven days.
