The full Online Home Learning Series program is divided into five scaffolded levels, beginning with Level A and continuing through Level E. Each level is appropriate for use with children ages 4+, so you can begin your children's language learning journey to speak Spanish at any time.

Level A

By the end of Level A, your children will be able to complete the following tasks/learning objectives in Spanish:

  • I can tell my name.
  • I can say whether something is blue.
  • I can tell how old I am.
  • I can count to three.
  • I can describe something as blue.
  • I can identify a fish.
  • I can begin to identify the days of the week.
  • I can tell how I am.
  • I can say whether something is yellow.

  • I can describe the size of something as big or small.
  • I can describe myself as big, small, or smart.
  • I can tell you something I like to do.
  • I can describe something as yellow.

Level B

  • I can say something about my mom and/or dad.

  • I can describe members of my family using several adjectives.
  • I can ask and answer the question “How many?”

  • I can talk about someone running or playing.
  • I can ask simple questions to discover what people like.

  • I can tell someone my address in Spanish.
  • I can politely ask for something to eat or drink.
  • I can say I want something.
  • I can say that I’m hungry or thirsty.
  • I can mention some foods and drinks I like.
  • I can describe something as gray.
  • I can name some foods I like or don’t like to eat.
  • I can identify the kitchen and living room in my house.
  • I can begin to explain where something is.
  • I can say that I need something.
  • I can describe something as gray.

  • I can describe something pink or orange.
  • I can identify the number of objects I see using numbers up to one hundred.
  • I can talk about some farm animals.
  • I can tell what the weather is like today.
  • I can talk about what weather is typical for a season where I live and in Mexico.

  • I can begin to tell the sequence of activities using before, after, and then.
  • I can talk about some clothes I wear for different types of weather and seasons.
  • I can mention some parts of my body to talk more about how I feel.

Level E

By the end of Level E, in addition to everything they learned in Levels A, B, C, and D, your children will be able to complete the following tasks in Spanish.

  • I can talk about some places in my city.
  • I can mention some places common in my city and in a city in Latin America.
  • I can identify and describe some zoo animals.
  • I can talk about what the weather and seasons are like in a city in Latin America.
  • I can identify some major geographical features where I live and in a country in Latin America.
  • I can begin to make plans with a friend to do something.
  • I can begin to use words and phrases like yesterday, last week, and tomorrow to identify when an activity happens.
  • I can describe something using many color words, including purple.
